Construction disruptions on the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, D, N lines
Mark Groce: I'm Mark Groce, and you're listening to the Weekend Service Advisory on TransitTrax, New York City Transit's podcast service.

Here's this week’s guide to a few of the significant changes in subway service scheduled for this weekend on the number 2, number 3, number 4, 5, A, D, and N lines beginning late night Friday, November 20th at 11:30 p.m., and ending Monday November 23rd at 5 a.m.

These changes are due to necessary capital construction and rehabilitation work. Work that may cause you to ride backward just to go forward or change your traveling pattern all together.

The travel tip for this weekend is: take note of the Fulton Street closure. This temporary closure affects transfers on six lines.

In Manhattan, the work being done at the Fulton Street/Broadway-Nassau station will affect service on the number 2, 3, 4, 5, and A lines this weekend beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday morning and lasting until 5 a.m. Monday. Dave Erlitz of Operations Planning explains what’s going on and how to get around without getting lost.
Dave Erlitz, Operations Planning: Because of a station renovation project at the Fulton Street station complex, there will be no transfers between the 2, 3, and 4 services or the 2, 3, and A services. Customers transferring between the 2, 3, and A service should use Chambers Street on the A or Park Place on the 2 or 3. Customers who wish to transfer between the 2, 3, and 4 services should do so at Nevins Street in Brooklyn. As a result of this work, transferring between the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, and C trains will become easier.

Mark Groce: Between Manhattan and Brooklyn this weekend, the D train will be replaced with shuttle buses for some stops, and the F train for others, beginning Friday at 11:30 p.m. until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Dave Erlitz: Due to the Broadway/Lafayette, Bleeker Street station connection project, D train service will be operating in two sections. D train service from 205th Street in the Bronx will operate to 34th Street in Manhattan. D service in Brooklyn will operate from Stillwell Avenue to Pacific Street. Customers may utilize the N, R, or F train services to transfer between the two D services. A free shuttle bus will also operate between Grand Street and West 4th Street. As a result of the Broadway/Lafayette, Bleeker Street station connection project, transfers between the number 6 and the B and F train services will become easier.

Mark Groce: In Queens, N trains will be replaced by shuttle buses at certain stops beginning Saturday at 5:30 a.m. until Sunday at 6 p.m.
Dave Erlitz: Because of track work on the Astoria line between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, N train service will operate between Stillwell Avenue, Brooklyn, and Queensboro Plaza in Queens only. Free shuttle bus service will be operating between Queensboro Plaza and Ditmars Boulevard.
